Information Technology Major: FSU


This academic map is provided to help students in the A.A. program prepare to transfer as a junior to Florida State University as an Information Technology major. Students who plan to transfer to a different institution should work with an adviser to identify that institution’s requirements.

Courses marked with an asterisk (*) must be completed with a grade of C or better.

Courses marked with (R) are specifically required for acceptance into the major at FSU.

 

FSU Requirements for Admission as Information Technology Major (B.S.)


GPA: Overall GPA of 2.0 or higher


Communications: Complete General Education  requirements (6 credit hours)*


Humanities: (6 credit hours)


Mathematics


Science: Complete General Education  requirements (6 credit hours)


History: Complete General Education  requirements (6 credit hours)


Social Science: (3 credit hours)


Personal Development: Complete General Education  requirements (3 credit hours)*


Instruction in the U.S. Constitution: Complete General Education  requirement (credit hours vary)


Foreign Language (Select one of the following options)

  • Two credits of the same foreign language in high school
  • 8 credit hours of the same foreign language or American Sign Language at the college level

Computer Competency Requirement: Complete General Education  requirement (credit hours vary)


Electives: Complete General Education  requirement (24 credit hours), including the following:


Multicultural: Not required for admission to FSU, but required for graduation from FSU. Students may satisfy the requirement at FSU, or may satisfy the requirement with one of the following TCC courses:
