HIM2433 Pathophysiology/Pharmacology

Prerequisite(s): grade of C or better in BSC2086  and BSC2086L .
This course emphasizes the fundamentals of the human disease process. It introduces important terminology, inflammation and allergy, neoplasia, heredity and disease, dietary factors and diseases, infectious diseases, and the major diseases associated with each body system. Students will learn to recognize drug names and drug classes; understand drug actions and rationale for treatment; discern between sound-alike drugs; and understand side effects, allergic effects and other effects of drugs. The course addresses various healthcare issues relating to pharmacology. Contact: 4 hours. Does not count toward A.A. degree.
