Armed Private Security Officer PSAV Certificate (5021)


Program Purpose:
To prepare students to meet the minimum standards for class “G” licensure as armed private security officers through the Department of Agriculture. This license ensures that the public is served by private security officers who are ethical, qualified and well-trained.

This program is in accordance with the requirements of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Criminal Justice Standards & Training Commission (CJSTC).

Admission Requirements:
Applicant must be at least 18 years of age, have a standard high school diploma or GED diploma and be a U.S. citizen. Applicant must not have had a dishonorable discharge from the Armed Forces of the United States or any felony convictions or of a misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement. Any person who, after July 1, 1981, pleads guilty or nolo contendere to, or is found guilty of a felony, or of a misdemeanor involving perjury or a false statement, shall not be eligible for admission, not-withstanding suspension of sentence or withholding of adjudication. Prior to entry into this program applicants must attest to the terms of the Federal Gun Control Act (GCA), 18 USC 922(g)
