Early Childhood Development, Education and Management, A.S. (2123)

Program Purpose:
To prepare students seeking careers in early childhood education, child care facility management and/or child care facility ownership.

Employment Types:
Early childhood teacher, director, owner

Program Length:
63 credit hours

Admission Requirements:
Admission requirements for TPP programs are the same as admission to the College: standard high school diploma or GED diploma. Most TPP program courses require students to be College-ready, which means the student must have appropriate placement scores, complete any needed developmental education or meet the requirements for a documented exemption.

Course Information


General Education (15 credit hours)


Note:


To satisfy State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.030, students must earn a grade of “C” or better in any Communications, Humanities, History/Social Science or Mathematics course used to fulfill general education requirements.

Note:


* Students who hold a current FCCPC/CDA from an approved DCF program will receive college credit for these three courses, for a total of 9 credit hours.

** This course is also appropriate for students applying for the director’s credential through the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Note: EEC2523 Early Childhood Organizational Leadership and Management  is offered for students seeking to satisfy the five-year renewal for the director’s credential through DCF.
