EAP0440 English as a Second Language for Academic Purposes, Level II4 credit hour(s) | Fall | Spring
Prerequisite(s): Appropriate placement score or completion of EAP0384 .
Assists international students and non-native speakers of English in acquiring academic writing skills necessary for college success. Targets specific second language problems such as use of articles, idiomatic expressions, prepositions, verb tenses and word endings. Provides instruction in effective paragraph writing and short essay development. Skills are developed by speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English. Minimum of one hour per week in a lab setting required. Students must pass this course with a grade of C or better before enrolling in ENC1101 . Contact: 4 hours, including 1 lab hour. Institutional credit only. Does not carry degree credit. Does not count toward A.A. degree.
