RTE1613 Radiation Physics2 credit hour(s) | Fall
Prerequisite(s): satisfactory completion of RTE1513 , RTE1513L , RTE1814 .
Corequisite(s): RTE1824 , RTE2523 , RTE2523L .
This introductory course provides the student with the basic elements of physics. Topics include units of measurement, atomic structure, nature and characteristics of radiation, x-ray properties, x-ray machine components, x-ray tube, the production of x-rays, and fluoroscopy. Introductory digital radiography, and digital principles of radiographic exposure will also be presented. Students must achieve a grade of at least 75% in this course to advance in the program. Contact: 2 hours per week. Does not count toward A.A. degree.
