PTN1122 Therapeutic Agents II3 credit hour(s) | Fall | Spring Prerequisite(s): PTN1121 , PTN1132 , CGS1060 , ENC1101 . Corequisite(s): PTN1131C , PTN1930 , PTN1940 . This course provides practical knowledge of the most commonly used pharmaceuticals in the U.S., focusing on the top 200 commonly prescribed and over-the-counter medications. Topics include the pharmaceutical nomenclature and classification of drugs for gastrointestinal and related diseases; renal, respiratory and cardiovascular system drugs; drugs for muscle and joint disease pain; hormonal disorders and their treatments; and topical ophthalmic and optic medications. Special topics include chemotherapy, vitamins, OTC supplements and antidotes. Lecture: 3 hours. Does not count toward A.A. degree.
